Preparation and feeding

Powdered milks are not sterile. Follow the preparation instructions carefully.

1. Wash your hands and sterilise all utensils according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Boil 1 litre of freshly run water. Leave the kettle to cool for 45 minutes and no longer. Measure the required water, using the feeding guide on the pack, into a sterilised bottle. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.
3. Using the scoop provided, level off the powder with the built-in leveller. Do not press or heap the powder.
4. Add the correct measure of powder to the water. Fit the sterilised teat and cap. Hold the bottle horizontally and shake from left to right for 10 seconds, then vertically from top to bottom for 10 seconds. Keep the time between adding the scoops and shaking as short as possible.
5. Leave the bottle to stand for 5 minutes so the feed can thicken. Turn it upside down immediately before feeding, check the temperature and feed immediately.

Storage and label advice

Store the powder in a cool, dry place and do not refrigerate. Use within 4 weeks of opening. Packaging may vary; always check the pack for the latest ingredients, allergens, preparation, feeding and storage instructions.

Important medical and feeding advice

Breastfeeding is best. Speak to a healthcare professional if your baby has frequent reflux or regurgitation. Aptamil Anti-Reflux should only be used under medical supervision after full consideration of feeding options, including breastfeeding. Do not use with antacids or other thickeners. It is not suitable for premature infants and is for enteral use only.
